The Chief Executive Officer of Access Bank Plc, Roosevelt Ogbonna, has commended the Ogun State Government for creating a business-friendly environment that continues to attract investors, saying the state is setting a pace others can follow.

Ogbonna gave the commendation during a visit to Governor Dapo Abiodun, where he led a delegation of senior executives from the bank.

Speaking during the visit, the bank chief said Ogun’s policies have moved beyond attracting investments, adding that they are encouraging sustainable partnerships built on a shared vision for long-term development.

He said, “I am extremely proud. Ogun State is making it a habit of showing Nigerians what a working democracy looks like.”

Ogbonna noted that the state government’s ability to transform ideas into tangible projects reflects a strong commitment to excellence and purposeful leadership.

He also lauded the ongoing Gateway International Airport project, describing it as a landmark initiative that demonstrates bold thinking and strategic planning by the Abiodun administration.

The Access Bank CEO expressed satisfaction with the bank’s involvement in the project, stressing that the financial institution remains committed to supporting initiatives capable of driving economic growth and development.

According to him, such projects are critical to enhancing connectivity, boosting commerce, and positioning the state as a major investment destination.

In his remarks, Governor Abiodun described Access Bank as a dependable development partner, commending its readiness to support the state’s vision from conception to execution.

“They saw the vision from the outset and backed it. A vision without funding is merely a hallucination,” the governor said.

Abiodun added that the collaboration between the state and the bank reflects the importance of strong public-private partnerships in delivering impactful infrastructure and sustaining economic progress.

He maintained that his administration would continue to pursue policies that promote ease of doing business while attracting both local and foreign investors to the state.
