The Ogun State Government has formally announced the constitution of an Administrative Body to oversee the management of administrative and traditional responsibilities in Ijebu Ode during the transition period, pending the installation of a new Awujale.
According to a statement signed by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ganiyu Hamzat, the move is in line with the existing historical and traditional governance structure of Ijebu Ode, ensuring stability, continuity, and respect for cherished traditions.
The Administrative Body is chaired by Chief Folorunso Sunny Kuku (Ilamuren), with Chief Oluwaranti Lekan Osifeso (Madassa) serving as Secretary. Other members include Chief Stephen Bakare Oluwalogbon (Elementa) and Chief Bisola Oluneye Okuboyejo (Ilamuren).
Others include; Chief Funmilola Okunowo (Ilamuren), Prof. Jide Ajayi (Ilamuren), Chief Tunde Odulaja (Pampa), Chief Abimbola Okenla (Pampa), Chief Agboola Alausa (Pampa), Chief (Mrs.) Adebisi Oshibogun (Pampa), and Chief Adebisi Adaran (Gbeden) (Ogbogeni Odi).
Governor Dapo Abiodun, CON, reiterated the commitment of government to safeguarding the peace, harmony, and unity Ijebu land is known for.
He called on all sons and daughters of Ijebuland, both at home and in the diaspora, to extend their support to the constituted body, stressing that cooperation with the committee is a collective responsibility.
The statement further urged the people of Ijebu Ode to remain law-abiding, peaceful, and supportive of the ongoing process, while assuring that the government remains resolute in its dedication to transparency, inclusiveness, and the preservation of cultural heritage.
