The First Lady of Ogun State, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun, has marked her birthday in a remarkable way by donating food items and various prizes to children at the Juvenile Correctional Centre in Asero, Abeokuta, reaffirming her long-standing commitment to the welfare of vulnerable children.

The special celebration, held within the premises of the correctional facility, brought together key dignitaries including the Ogun State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Hon. Motunrayo Adijat Adeleye, Deputy Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Hon. Ajayi Bolanle, and several other government officials who praised the First Lady for her compassion and selfless outreach.

Speaking at the event, Hon. Adeleye described the donation as a practical demonstration of the First Lady’s concern for children in the lowest strata of society.

“Choosing to spend your birthday with these children says a lot about your values and commitment to real change,” the Commissioner noted. “Your Excellency, you have shown once again that advocacy is not just about words, but about action and sacrifice.”

She further commended Mrs. Abiodun’s contributions through the Ajose Foundation and her collaboration with the Ministry in promoting inclusive policies that benefit women and children.

Other dignitaries present also applauded the gesture. Special Adviser to the Governor on Trade, Mrs. Oluwayemisi Dawodu, her counterpart in the Ministry of Women Affairs, Mrs. Lawal Olanbiwoninu, and Permanent Secretary of the Hospital Management Board, Dr. Olayinka Elemide, all emphasized the impact of the First Lady’s consistent support for child protection and women empowerment in Ogun State.

They collectively urged the children not to lose hope, encouraging them to dream big, as the state government remains committed to creating a safer and more supportive environment for their development.

In her remarks, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun thanked the guests for their goodwill and reaffirmed her dedication to improving the lives of women and children.

“It is my joy to share this day with you,” she said. “Every child deserves love, dignity and a future full of hope. We will continue to push for policies that make this a reality.”
