The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, has deployed new Commissioners of Police to several states including Borno, Ondo, Osun and Jigawa, charging them to provide quality leadership and rid their jurisdictions of criminal elements.
The posting of the senior officers, which takes immediate effect, is aimed at strengthening internal security and enhancing the operational capacity of the Nigeria Police Force across critical areas.
The new deployments include CP Naziru D. Abdulmajid to Borno State Command, CP Adebowale Lawal to Ondo State Command, CP Ibrahim Gotan to Osun State Command, CP Dahiru Mohammed to Jigawa State Command and CP Bello Rasheed Afegbua to Cross River State Command. Others are CP Eloho Edwin Okpoziakpo, now in charge of Training and Development at the Force Headquarters, and CP Olusegun Eyitayo Omosayin, posted to the FCID Annex, Gombe as CP General Investigation.
In a statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the IGP urged the officers to maintain professionalism and uphold their duty to protect lives and property, noting that the strategic appointments are designed to leverage the experience of the officers in tackling security challenges in their respective states.
While reassuring Nigerians of the commitment of the Police to safeguard communities, the IGP appealed for continued collaboration from the public in the fight against crime.
The postings, according to the Police, are part of ongoing efforts to ensure effective policing and leadership in the face of security concerns nationwide.
