Borno State – Troops of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK), working alongside local vigilante groups, have killed 17 suspected terrorists and seized an array of arms and logistics materials during a precision ambush in Borno State.
The operation took place in the early hours of December 21, 2025, targeting a suspected terrorist supply route.
The Media Information Officer of the Joint Task Force, Lt. Col. Sani Uba, stated that troops, acting on credible intelligence, positioned themselves between Sojiri and Kayamla villages on the night of December 20.
At approximately 2:24 a.m. on December 21, suspected insurgents riding bicycles arrived at the interception point carrying logistics materials, confirming prior intelligence reports.
“The troops, in coordinated and concealed formations, engaged the terrorists decisively.”
“Seventeen suspected terrorists were neutralized, while others fled with gunshot injuries,” Lt. Col. Uba said.
Recovered items included several bicycles, assorted food items, medical supplies, detergents, clothing, torch lights, assorted weapons of various calibres, and ammunition.
The JTF emphasized that the operation demonstrates the continued effectiveness of intelligence-driven, joint security efforts in degrading terrorist networks and disrupting their logistical support in the region.
