The Christian Association of Nigeria has said the 2025 Christmas season passed without any reported attacks on churches across the country, a development it described as a significant break from previous years.
President of CAN, Daniel Okoh, stated this after leading leaders of the association on a Christmas visit to Tinubu at his residence in Lagos.
According to Okoh, the association undertook the visit to appreciate Tinubu and his wife, Remi Tinubu, for their efforts in caring for the poor, promoting national development, and advancing peace nationwide.
“This Christmas happened to be the first Christmas in many years that we are not woken up with phone calls in the midnight to say that a church was attacked.”
“It is a testimony we must share, and we hope and pray that this will continue,” Okon said.
He said the association was encouraged by what he described as renewed efforts by the Federal Government to strengthen national security, adding that CAN was pleased with the current direction.
Okoh also pledged the association’s continued support, noting that CAN would keep working with the administration in the interest of national development and progress.
While acknowledging that more work remained, he expressed optimism that the measures being implemented would yield more visible results in the coming year.
