The Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide, alongside some lawmakers and the Assembly Clerk, has been honoured by the Centre for Ethics and Self Value Orientation for upholding exemplary legislative ethics, transparency, and performance.

The award presentation took place at the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, with the Executive Director of the Centre, Salih Musa Yakubu, describing the recognition as a reward for dedication to ethical standards, legislative productivity, and alignment with both state and national governance objectives.

Yakubu revealed that the Ogun State House of Assembly was rated second-best among all State Assemblies in Nigeria, attributing the ranking to key performance indicators such as adherence to due process, rule of law, transparency, and a strong working relationship with other arms of government.

“The Ogun Assembly has demonstrated an enviable level of institutional integrity. This award is based on independent assessments across all Nigerian Houses of Assembly, and Ogun stood out in its commitment to good governance,” Yakubu stated.

He further praised the leadership of the House for fostering legislative discipline and mutual respect between lawmakers and the Assembly’s workforce.

Responding on behalf of the recipients, the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide, expressed gratitude to the Centre for acknowledging the hard work and dedication of the State Assembly.

“This honour is a reflection of our collective commitment to the progress of Ogun State. It is an encouragement to do more, to remain ethical, and to champion transparency in our legislative responsibilities,” Elemide said.

He assured the Centre of the Assembly’s continued dedication to the values of good governance, promising that members would work harder to sustain the trust placed in them by the people of the state.
