ABEOKUTA – The Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA), Ogun State chapter, is set to welcome a new set of executives this Saturday in a grand handover and swearing-in ceremony at the Palace of Olowu of Owu, Oke Ago Owu, Abeokuta.
The three-in-one event will be chaired by the Olowu of Owu, Oba (Professor) Saka Matemilola, who is expected to oversee the formal inauguration of the new officers.
The ceremony, scheduled to start promptly at noon, will see Chief Abiodun Lasile, the newly elected chairman, alongside other key officers, officially take over the leadership of the state chapter.
Other officers to assume positions include Pastor Dare Folarin as Vice Chairman, Mr. Matthew Simpa as General Secretary, Mr. Gbenga Ogunsola as Treasurer, Mr. Akinyemi Makinde as Assistant Secretary, and Mr. Samuel Ogunyinka as Public Relations Officer.
All members of ANA and the South West Authors Forum (SWAF) are expected to attend the ceremony, which promises to be a gathering of prominent authors and cultural leaders from across the state.
Chief Lasile, who spoke ahead of the ceremony, expressed optimism about advancing the association’s goals, saying, “We are committed to fostering literary growth and creating platforms for authors in Ogun State to thrive.”
