The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has lowered its petrol ex-depot price from N828 to N699 per litre, representing a reduction of N129 or 15.58 per cent.

The new rate took effect on December 11, 2025, marking the 20th petrol price adjustment by the refinery this year.

An unnamed refinery official confirmed the adjustment, stating, “The refinery has reduced petrol gantry price to N699 per litre.”

The reduction comes shortly after the refinery’s Chairman, Aliko Dangote, met with President Bola Tinubu and reaffirmed his commitment to keeping domestic fuel prices competitive, despite global volatility and smuggling challenges.

Dangote noted that as smuggling decreases and refinery output increases, prices will continue to fall.

Market trackers also reported slight reductions in petrol prices at several private depots in response to Dangote’s new pricing.

Sigmund Depot cut its price by N4 to N824 per litre, Bulk Strategic by N3, and TechnoOil by N15, while other depots made marginal adjustments.

Dangote emphasized that petroleum products would remain reasonably priced, describing the refinery as a long-term investment rather than a quick-profit venture.
