A driver was hospitalised following a collision between a truck and a white car on Eko Bridge in Lagos State on Sunday morning.
The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority confirmed that the accident occurred around 6 am on the bridge heading inward toward NEPA. The crash caused the white car to flip over, leaving one driver injured.
In a post on its X handle, LASTMA said the driver was quickly rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. Details of the injured driver’s condition were not immediately available.
“An accident involving two vehicles occurred on Eko Bridge inward NEPA, prompting the deployment of tow trucks,” the agency stated.
The agency added that LASTMA personnel and policemen from Ebute Ero Divisional Police Station were managing the situation. Traffic was streamlined to one lane, resulting in slow movement and a backlog at Offin Canal.
In a later update, LASTMA said the affected vehicles had been evacuated and normal traffic flow was expected along the corridor.
