The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared two individuals Folashade Odelana and Bamidele Ayodele Abiodun wanted in connection with an alleged multi-million naira cryptocurrency fraud linked to Crypto Bridge Exchange (CBEX), a digital asset trading platform.

In a statement released on Wednesday, the anti-graft agency alleged that the suspects played central roles in orchestrating a fraudulent investment scheme that led to significant financial losses for scores of unsuspecting Nigerians who traded through the CBEX platform.

According to the EFCC, “The suspects are wanted for their alleged involvement in a conspiracy and fraudulent activities involving digital assets. They reportedly defrauded investors through false representations and unauthorized withdrawals of funds from user accounts.”

The Commission appealed to the general public to assist in locating the duo, assuring that all information provided will be treated with strict confidentiality.

“We urge anyone with useful information about the whereabouts of Folashade Odelana and Bamidele Abiodun to report to the nearest EFCC office or contact the Commission through our official communication channels. The protection of whistleblowers is guaranteed,” the notice read.

While the exact sum involved in the scam has not been officially disclosed, sources familiar with the case indicate that the fraud runs into several hundreds of millions of naira, affecting multiple victims across the country.

CBEX, once advertised as a promising digital trading platform, is now under intense scrutiny after reports of sudden withdrawal restrictions, vanishing customer funds, and untraceable company officials.
