The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has ordered the arrest of its dismissed staff, Olakunle Alex Folarin, after he was spotted participating in a matchmaking programme hosted on Lege Miami’s social media platforms.
Folarin, who until recently served as a driver at the Ibadan Zonal Directorate of the EFCC, was dismissed from service for certificate forgery. Despite his dismissal, he was found to be in possession of some of the Commission’s properties, including an official identity card, which he allegedly failed to return.
In a statement, the EFCC Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, directed that Folarin be apprehended for unlawfully holding on to government property and warned the public against associating his conduct with the Commission.
“The activities of Mr. Folarin after his dismissal should not be linked to the EFCC in any form,” the Commission stressed.
The anti-graft agency further emphasized that it would not condone acts that could tarnish its image, reiterating its zero tolerance for forgery, impersonation, or fraudulent representation of its staff.
