As Muslims in Ogun State prepare for the 2025 Eid-ul-Fitri celebrations, the Ogun State Community, Social Orientation, and Safety Corps, codenamed So-Safe Corps, has deployed 900 officers and men to enhance security across the state.

The Corps’ State Commander, Dr. Soji Ganzallo, disclosed this in a statement issued by the Director of Information and Public Relations, Assistant Commander of Corps (ACC) Moruf Yusuf.

According to the statement, the Director of Operations and Zonal Commanders have been mandated to work closely with Muslim leaders, particularly Imams, in the 20 Local Government Areas of Ogun State to ensure surveillance and protection at Eid prayer grounds.

Ganzallo emphasized that all deployed personnel must exhibit professionalism and civility in their operations.

He noted that officers have been instructed to actively engage in community security efforts, including sensitizing Muslim faithful, visitors, well-wishers, and community leaders on the importance of heightened security awareness throughout the celebration period, which runs from Friday, March 28, to Friday, April 4, 2025.

“Security remains a top priority, and we will deploy all necessary strategies to safeguard lives and property during this period. We also urge Christian families to support their Muslim neighbors by remaining vigilant and ensuring their communities are protected while Muslims attend Eid prayers,” Ganzallo stated.

As part of security measures, So-Safe Corps officers will conduct regular patrols in communities to prevent criminal elements from using any location as a planning or hiding ground for unlawful activities.

The Corps also issued a stern warning against any attempt to disrupt the celebrations, emphasizing that no act of lawlessness will be tolerated.

“Anyone with a hidden agenda to destabilize the peace during this period should rethink their actions. Our officers will be on high alert, and there will be no room for criminal activities,” Ganzallo warned.

While assuring residents of Ogun State Government’s commitment to security, Ganzallo congratulated Muslim faithful, So-Safe Corps officers, Corps Marshals, and Officers’ Mess members who observed the Ramadan fast, praying for Allah’s blessings and rewards upon them.

The Corps urged members of the public to report suspicious activities or security concerns via the following emergency hotlines:

08034681687, 09069392064, 08035479930
