The Federal Government has announced plans to reopen schools that were previously closed due to security challenges across several states.
The decision comes after security agencies reassured the government of improved safety measures in affected areas.
Minister of Education, while briefing journalists in Abuja on Monday, said the reopening would be gradual and coordinated with state governments to ensure the safety of students and staff.
He emphasized that the government remains committed to providing uninterrupted learning despite past security threats.
President Tinubu, in a statement, urged parents, teachers, and communities to cooperate with security agencies to sustain a safe learning environment.
“Our children’s education is paramount, and no effort will be spared to ensure schools are safe for all,” the statement read.
The government also announced that additional security personnel and monitoring mechanisms would be deployed to schools in high-risk areas, signaling a proactive approach to prevent future disruptions.
