Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has approved a minor cabinet reshuffle affecting all Special Advisers, Advisers, Senior Special Assistants and Special Assistants, as part of efforts to expand opportunities for more party members and inject fresh energy into the administration.
The development was announced in a statement issued on Monday by the Deputy Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mashood AbdulRafiu Agboola. According to the statement, the reshuffle also affected the Deputy Chief of Staff and the Principal Private Secretary to the Governor.
The statement read, “The decision, which is meant to extend opportunities to more party members and inject fresh energy into the administration, also affected the Deputy Chief of Staff and the Principal Private Secretary to the Governor.”
Governor AbdulRazaq expressed appreciation to the affected appointees for their contributions to the growth of the state during their time in office.
“His Excellency expresses his gratitude to all the appointees for their priceless service to the state. He wishes them the best in their future endeavours,” the statement added.
The governor also directed all affected appointees to return government property in their possession to the Office of the Secretary to the State Government as part of the transition process.
“The Governor directs all the affected appointees to hand over all government’s properties in their custody to the Office of the Secretary to the State Government,” the statement said.
