Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, has reiterated that his administration operates without any political godfather, stressing that accountability to God alone has enabled his government to initiate and complete critical development projects across the state.
Makinde made the declaration while receiving the Continental leadership of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) on a courtesy visit at his office, Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan.
He said freedom from godfatherism has strengthened transparency and focus in governance, allowing the administration to prioritise projects that directly impact the lives of the people.
“My administration has no godfather except God the Father. That is why we are able to embark on projects and ensure their completion,” the governor said.
On infrastructure, Makinde disclosed that the Oluyole Road has been awarded for repair, noting that limited resources require careful planning and prioritisation.
“Resources are limited, but we are determined to complete all awarded projects at the appropriate time,” he assured.
He also appealed to the clerics to continue praying for his administration, the state and the country, saying, “We need prayers for sustained peace, progress and development in Oyo State and Nigeria as a whole.”
The RCCG delegation, led by Continental Overseer Pastor Adeola Mensah, conveyed the church’s goodwill and informed the governor that the General Overseer of RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, would be visiting Iseyin and Saki on Monday, December 22, 2025.
Mensah commended Makinde for the developmental strides recorded under his leadership and offered prayers for the continued elevation of the state.
Present at the meeting from the governor’s office were Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Adenike Adeyemo; Head of Service, Mrs Olubunmi Oni; Chief of Staff, Otunba Segun Ogunwuyi; and several commissioners.
The RCCG team included Pastor Titi Mensah, Senior Pastor Oyelaran Oyeyinka, and other regional pastors.
