In a move set to reposition Ogun State as a digital powerhouse, Governor Dapo Abiodun on Wednesday officially commissioned the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) Digital Innovation Park in Abeokuta.
Describing the facility as a “landmark development,” the governor noted that the centre represents a significant step forward in the state’s pursuit of digital transformation, innovation, and youth empowerment across Nigeria and beyond.
“This facility is more than just a building; it is a symbol of progress, a platform for opportunity, and a reflection of our unwavering commitment to equipping our people, especially our youth, with the tools they need to thrive in the global digital economy,” Governor Abiodun said at the commissioning.
He highlighted that the NCC Digital Innovation Park, the first of its kind in Southern Nigeria, is expected to serve as a hub for skills development, tech entrepreneurship, and job creation.
“The possibilities this park presents are immense,” the governor stated. “From cutting-edge training in AI, cybersecurity, and software development to partnerships with local startups and global tech firms, it aligns perfectly with our Building Our Future Together vision.”
The governor expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his continued commitment to national development through the Renewed Hope Agenda.
“We deeply appreciate the visionary leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, whose Renewed Hope Agenda continues to inspire transformative change across sectors,” he noted.
Abiodun also commended the Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani, and the Nigerian Communications Commission for their instrumental roles in actualizing the project.
“This is a dream come true,” he added. “With this park, Ogun State is ready. The future is now.”
