The Ogun State House of Assembly has passed a resolution in favour of Young Agro Services Ltd in a lingering land dispute, dismissing the counterclaims by Engr. Victor Banjoko and Alhaji Kola Oyemomi over a parcel of land located along the Abeokuta–Sagamu expressway at Idi Tank Village, near Asun-Siun in Obafemi/Owode Local Government Area.
The resolution was adopted following the presentation of a report by the House Committee on Lands and Housing, chaired by Hon. Damilola Soneye. The report, which examined all sides of the dispute, was laid before the House and adopted through a motion moved by Majority Leader Hon. Yusuf Abiodun and seconded by Minority Leader Hon. Lukman Adeleye, with full support from the lawmakers present.
According to the report, the committee had convened two separate sittings on the matter, held on July 14 and July 22, 2025, at the Assembly Complex in Abeokuta. The petition against Banjoko and Oyemomi was submitted by T.V. Aiyegbusi & Co. on behalf of Young Agro Services Ltd, alleging “forceful trespass, breach of peace, and threat to life.”
Presenting the findings, Hon. Soneye stated that after thoroughly reviewing all documents and arguments submitted by both parties, the committee found no legal evidence to validate the land transaction claimed by Alhaji Oyemomi and Engr. Banjoko. As a result, the House ruled the transaction null and void.
The committee recommended that Young Agro Services Ltd should retain possession of the disputed land and continue its payment obligations to the State Bureau of Lands and Survey, in line with the official allocation and assessment issued to the company.
The Assembly further advised that any party dissatisfied with the resolution may seek legal redress through a court of competent jurisdiction, urging all sides to maintain peace and follow lawful channels in resolving land matters.
