Speaking at a press conference marking the commencement of the 14th edition of the trade fair, the Communication Officer of Dangote Group, Francis Awowole-Brown, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to supporting the chamber.

The event, held at MKO Abiola Trade Fair Complex in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, had in attendance key stakeholders, including the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, Mrs. Kehinde Jokotoye, and the Director of Commerce, Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Investment, Deji Sowunmi.

Awowole-Brown highlighted the importance of strengthening partnerships, particularly with businesses operating within Ogun State, to increase participation in the trade fair.

He encouraged OGUNCCIMA’s leadership to intensify efforts in mobilizing stakeholders locally and internationally.

“The success of the Gateway International Trade Fair depends on how well we prepare ahead of time. We encourage the leadership of OGUNCCIMA to actively reach out to businesses within and beyond Ogun State to ensure wider participation and make the event more robust,” he stated.

He commended the Ogun State Government for its continuous support of the trade fair, describing it as a significant boost for investors and stakeholders.

OGUNCCIMA President, Lion Niyi Oshiyemi, in his remarks, noted that the trade fair, organized in collaboration with the Ogun State Government, has remained a premier platform for business networking, innovation, and investment promotion.

“For over a decade, this trade fair has played a vital role in driving economic transformation, fostering collaborations among local and international businesses, investors, policymakers, and consumers,” he said.

He added that this year’s theme, “Promoting Businesses through Partnership,” underscores the importance of strategic alliances in creating opportunities, strengthening industries, and accelerating economic growth.

Oshiyemi expressed appreciation to Governor Dapo Abiodun for his steadfast support for the business community, stating that under his administration, Ogun State continues to emerge as an economic powerhouse attracting investments and fostering a business-friendly environment.

He also acknowledged Dangote Group’s longstanding role in supporting the fair, emphasizing the company’s contributions to industrial growth and economic stability.

“Your remarkable contributions to this fair and the Nigerian economy at large are commendable. Your presence here today further reinforces the significance of the Gateway International Trade Fair as a hub for commerce, innovation, and economic exchange,” he said.
