Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has commended the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide, for facilitating people-oriented constituency projects across Odeda Local Government, describing them as vital contributions to the success of the ISEYA development agenda.

The governor, represented by his deputy, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, gave the commendation during the commissioning of a rural electrification project at Obaasa Ajegunle Mile 6, perimeter fencing, and rehabilitation of classroom blocks, among other projects facilitated by the Speaker.

Abiodun noted that the initiative reflected a collaborative approach between the executive and legislative arms, designed to bring governance closer to the people and improve living standards in rural communities.

According to him, “With the completion of this electrification project comprising nearly two kilometres of power lines and a 500 KVA transformer, the living conditions of residents and farmers will improve significantly.”

“Electricity will not only enhance social life here; it will also make the settlement more attractive to farmers, boost agricultural output, and contribute to Ogun State’s drive for food security.”

The governor added that beyond production, the electrification project would open more opportunities in the agricultural value chain, including processing, packaging, and storage, which would create new revenue streams for farmers and agripreneurs.

Abiodun also announced plans by the state government to fix the access road linking Oba-Aasha Ajegunle Mile 6, which hosts the historic Ajegunle Farm Settlement established under the late Chief Obafemi Awolowo. He said the road upgrade would further support the agricultural economy of the area.

He urged residents to take ownership of the projects and protect them against vandalism, saying they represented progress and a better future for the people.

In his remarks, the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Elemide Oludaisi, appreciated the governor for approving the projects, stressing that they were products of public engagement and evaluation of community needs.

He appealed to the beneficiaries to safeguard the facilities for collective benefit.

The Chairman of Odeda Local Government, Dr. Afolasade Adeyemo, and other community leaders, including Alhaji Musulumi Saka and Tajudeen Fagbemi, praised the Speaker’s representation, describing him as a visionary leader whose interventions had brought succour to rural dwellers.

Also speaking, the State Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu, commended the 10th Assembly under Speaker Elemide for supporting the ministry through projects and policies that promote education, assuring that furniture would soon be supplied to the rehabilitated schools.
