The Ogun State Government has allocated ₦987.185 million for palliative support for public servants between April and December 2026, as part of efforts to cushion the effects of prevailing economic challenges on workers.
The Head of Service, Alhaji Olanrewaju Iskeel Saka, disclosed this in a statement on Friday, noting that the intervention reflected the state government’s commitment to workers’ welfare.
According to the statement, the government has earmarked ₦327.31 million for the fourth quarter, covering October to December 2026.
The allocation follows ₦330.63 million provided for the second quarter, from April to June, and ₦329.245 million for the third quarter, covering July to September.
The three allocations bring the total provision for the nine-month period to ₦987.185 million.
The palliative scheme is intended to ease the financial burden on public servants amid rising transportation costs and other essential expenses, which continue to affect household budgets.
The government said the sustained intervention was part of its efforts to support workers and maintain productivity across the public service.
It also noted that workers’ welfare remained important to effective service delivery and the implementation of the state’s development agenda.
