The Ogun State Government has appointed Mrs. Feyisara Bolarinwa-Adebowale as the new Director-General of the Bureau of Public Procurement.

The appointment was contained in a statement issued by the State Head of Service, Mr. Kehinde Onasanya, who said the decision followed due process and compliance with the extant Procurement Law as amended.

Bolarinwa-Adebowale replaces the late Dr. Adesina Olanloye.

According to the Head of Service, the new Director-General emerged through a “competitive and merit-based process,” which involved the screening and interview of qualified candidates who had completed the Executive Training Validation and Development Programme within the management cadre of the state civil service.

He added that she met all required competencies for the role, including the necessary skills and knowledge expected of the head of the Bureau of Public Procurement.

Onasanya said, “Her appointment is part of the ongoing efforts of the administration of Dapo Abiodun to strengthen due process and accountability in public contracting, in line with global best practices.”

He urged the new DG to discharge her duties with a high sense of responsibility and strict adherence to the laws guiding public procurement.

Bolarinwa-Adebowale, a legal practitioner, was born on May 22, 1978, in Ibadan. She joined the civil service in December 2005 as a State Counsel. She attended Anglican Girls’ Grammar School, Ijebu-Ode, obtained her law degree from Olabisi Onabanjo University, and later trained at the Nigerian Law School, Lagos Campus.

Before her appointment, she served as Deputy Director of Civil Litigation in the Ministry of Justice and was also seconded to the Bureau of Public Procurement as a Legal Officer.
