The Ogun State Police Command has urged residents to remain calm as it conducts a shooting range training exercise for its officers on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at the 35 Artillery Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Alamala, Abeokuta.
The advice was contained in a statement issued on Monday by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi B. Babaseyi, on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command.
According to the Command, the shooting range exercise is part of its routine training programme aimed at improving the operational readiness and marksmanship skills of officers across the state.
Residents, commuters, and people within and around the exercise area were advised to avoid the marked vicinity throughout the duration of the training, as sounds of gunfire are expected during the exercise.
The police assured members of the public that adequate safety measures have been put in place to ensure that the exercise is conducted professionally without posing any risk to lives or property.
The Command appealed for the cooperation and understanding of residents, noting that adherence to safety instructions would help guarantee the smooth conduct of the exercise.
