The Ogun State Police Command has officially welcomed a new Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, who has assumed duty as the 38th Commissioner following his deployment by the Inspector-General of Police, Tunji Disu.

Ojajuni, an indigene of Ondo State, took over leadership of the Command with a clear commitment to strengthening community policing and enhancing public trust in law enforcement across the state.

In his remarks upon resumption, the new Commissioner assured residents of a people-focused policing strategy, stating, “My approach will be rooted in community partnership. Policing cannot succeed without the trust and cooperation of the people we serve. We will work closely with communities to ensure safety and security for all.”

He added that professionalism and integrity would remain the cornerstone of his administration. “We are committed to upholding the highest standards of professionalism. The Command under my watch will operate an open-door policy, where members of the public can freely engage with us and seek redress where necessary,” Ojajuni said.

With about three decades of service in the Nigeria Police Force, Ojajuni brings a wealth of experience spanning operations, investigations, administration and international policing. Prior to his new role, he served as Commissioner of Police at INTERPOL, Nigeria National Central Bureau in Lagos, where he coordinated efforts against transnational crime.

Reflecting on his experience, he noted, “Our fight against crime must evolve with changing realities. My experience at INTERPOL has strengthened my resolve to deploy intelligence-led policing and strategic collaboration to tackle both local and international criminal networks.”

Ojajuni also called on officers and men of the Command to remain dedicated and disciplined in the discharge of their duties. “I urge all personnel to remain committed, law-abiding and responsive to the needs of the people. Together, we will build a Command that earns public confidence and delivers results,” he stated.
