The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) on Friday witnessed a change in leadership as Bayo Ojulari officially assumed office as the Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO), succeeding Mele Kyari.
The handover ceremony took place at the NNPC Towers in Abuja, marking the end of Kyari’s tenure and the beginning of a new phase under Ojulari’s leadership.
In a statement issued by Olufemi Soneye, Chief Corporate Communications Officer of NNPC Ltd, the new GCEO expressed appreciation for Kyari’s service to the nation and the growth of the company.
“I deeply appreciate the solid foundation laid by Mr. Kyari,” Ojulari said. “The objectives before us are quite enormous, but with the cooperation of the Management and staff, and the counsel of my predecessor, I believe we can reach new heights.”
Ojulari emphasized his commitment to building on the achievements of his predecessor and called for continued support from the company’s workforce.
“I will be counting on your support. I will need it,” he said. “I will be coming around to seek your counsel.”
Earlier, Kyari congratulated Ojulari and thanked the staff and management of NNPC Ltd for their support during his time in office.
“I want to sincerely thank everyone for their commitment and contribution throughout my tenure,” Kyari said. “I remain committed to the progress of the company and will continue to support the new management. I am only a call away.”
