Ondo State Governor, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has submitted the names of 12 individuals to the State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation as commissioners in the State Executive Council.
According to a press release signed and issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, the nomination was disclosed in a letter dated June 12, 2025, and addressed to the Speaker of the House, Rt Hon. Olamide Oladiji.
According to the Governor, the request is in line with Section 192 (1&2) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended). “I wish to forward to your esteemed office the following Commissioner nominees for your kind consideration and confirmation of the House of Assembly,” the Governor stated.
The 12 nominees listed in the correspondence are: Professor Igbekele Ajibefun, Engr Aycrinde Abiola Olawoye, Hon. Ayodele Akande, Engr Alabi Johnson, Alhaji Amidu Takuro, Otunba Adewale Akinlosotu, Mr. Idowu Ajanaku, Dr. Oluwaseun Abosede Osamaye, Dr. Tob Loko, Mr. Olaolu Akindolire, Hon. Sunday Olajide, and Mr. Omoyofunmi Segun Henry.
Governor Aiyedatiwa expressed confidence in the capacity of the nominees, urging the Assembly to treat the request with urgency. “I shall be most obliged to the Honourable House for your expeditious action on this request in the overall interest of our dear State,” the Governor added.
