Osogbo – The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has opened its appeals desk to receive petitions from members aggrieved by the recently concluded delegate congress for the party’s 2025 governorship primary.
The 1,660 delegates who will elect the APC governorship candidate on December 13 emerged from elections held across the state’s 332 wards, with five delegates representing each ward. The exercise, overseen by the state congress committee, was described as peaceful and orderly.
In a statement signed by the state APC Director of Media and Information, Kola Olabisi, the party said the five-man Appeal Committee, led by former House of Representatives member Kani Abubakar from Bauchi State, would receive and consider complaints from any member dissatisfied with the congress.
Speaking during the committee’s sitting at the APC State Secretariat in Osogbo, Abubakar said, “We are here to supervise and monitor the conduct of the delegate congress in Osun State. Our work is guided by the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the Constitution of our party, and the Electoral Guidelines.’
We are appealing to anyone with complaints to come forward. We have not received any petition yet, and we will remain at our duty post until 6:00 pm, the deadline for submissions.”
The committee’s readiness reflects the party’s effort to ensure transparency and internal democracy, providing an avenue for members to express concerns and seek redress ahead of the governorship primary.
The APC governorship primary is scheduled to hold on December 13, with the party urging all stakeholders to participate within the guidelines set by the appeals panel.
