The leadership of the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) in Osun State has announced the suspension of its nearly three-month-old strike.
Idris Adeniran, Osun JUSUN chairman, directed judiciary staff across the state to return to work starting Tuesday, December 16.
The industrial action began on September 19 after the union’s demands on staff welfare were not met. Previous efforts to end the strike had failed due to the Judicial Service Commission’s inability to address the issues.
Adeniran confirmed that the Judicial Service Commission has begun addressing the union’s concerns.
“We are pleased to report that the JSC has rectified the promotion of junior staff for 2024. Affected members are requested to appear on Tuesday, December 16, 2025,” he said.
He added that the 2025 promotion exercise will take place on Wednesday, December 17.
The strike resolution followed a meeting convened by the Director of the Department of State Services (DSS) in Osun State, bringing together key stakeholders, including the Chief Judge, Justice Adepele Ojo, the State Attorney General, Oluwole Jimi-Bada (SAN), and labour leaders.
Adeniran expressed appreciation for DSS’s intervention, which he described as “invaluable in promoting peace and stability in the state.”
