The Police Service Commission (PSC) has cautioned Nigerians to be wary of fraudulent recruitment claims circulating online, stressing that no portal has been opened for recruitment into the Nigeria Police Force (NPF).
In a statement released on its official website on Monday, the Commission described the online adverts as “fake and entirely misleading,” warning that they are created by fraudsters attempting to exploit unsuspecting citizens.
“The general public is hereby informed that these publications are fake and entirely misleading. They are the handiwork of fraudsters attempting to exploit innocent citizens,” the statement read.
The PSC clarified that no recruitment exercise is ongoing, and any official announcements will be made only through verified channels, including reputable national newspapers, the Commission’s official website, www.psc.gov.ng, and formal press releases.
The Commission urged Nigerians to disregard unofficial recruitment portals and report any fraudulent activity to the police. It also reassured the public of its commitment to transparency in future recruitment exercises, noting that information about the 2025 recruitment process will be communicated once it officially begins.
“Any recruitment portal not listed on our website is fraudulent and should be reported to the police,” the PSC added.
