The Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, has urged the 675 pilgrims from the state embarking on the sacred Hajj pilgrimage to pray fervently for the peace, progress, and leadership of Nigeria.

Addressing the pilgrims during a send-off event on Saturday, Salako-Oyedele congratulated them on the divine privilege of fulfilling one of the pillars of Islam. She encouraged the faithful to remember Ogun State, Nigeria, and their leaders in their prayers while in the Holy Land.

“This is a rare spiritual opportunity,” she said. “I urge you to pray for yourselves, your families, and more importantly, for the unity, peace, and prosperity of our dear state and the country at large.”

She specifically called for prayers for President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun. “Pray that Allah continues to grant them wisdom, strength, and good health as they lead our nation and our state,” she added.

The Deputy Governor advised the pilgrims to strictly adhere to all Hajj guidelines and cooperate with officials both in Nigeria and Saudi Arabia to ensure a smooth and rewarding experience.

“On behalf of the Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, and the people of Ogun State, I wish you a successful Hajj. May Allah accept your prayers, grant you Hajj Mabrour, and return you safely, enriched in faith,” she said.

She commended the efforts of the Ogun State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, led by the Executive Secretary, as well as the Consultant on Islamic Affairs, the Amir-ul-Hajj, and the ad-hoc Hajj committee for their diligence and coordination in preparing for the pilgrimage.

“Your commitment to ensuring a seamless and spiritually uplifting experience for our pilgrims is highly appreciated. May Allah reward you abundantly,” Salako-Oyedele stated.
