Leading a high-powered delegation from Ota to the residence of the deceased, the deputy governor acknowledged Otegbola’s enduring legacies, stating, “Even as a Deputy Governor, I am benefiting from the foundations he laid. He was a pride to Awori land, Ogun West, and the state as a whole.”

She further described him as a father figure to many, noting, “Sen. Otegbola had numerous loyalists and children beyond his biological ones, myself included. Even after stepping back from active politics, he remained a revered and respected leader till his last moments.”

Praying for his eternal rest, she urged the bereaved family to find solace in his well-lived life filled with impactful moments. She also assured them of the government’s support in ensuring he receives a befitting burial, encouraging them to uphold his legacy.

Responding on behalf of the family, Mr. Adewale Otegbola appreciated the deputy governor for her visit, describing it as a testament to how highly esteemed his father was. “She is the first top government official to visit us, and that speaks volumes. We will continue to uphold the values he represented in his lifetime,” he stated.

Among the delegation were Hon. Tunji Akinosi, member of the House of Representatives representing Ado-Odo/Ota; Hon. Wasiu Lawal, Chairman, Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government; Mr. Mohammed Ogabi, Secretary to the Local Government; Hon. Mutair Gbadamosi, Leader of the Local Government House; his deputy, Hon. Lateef Oseni; Chief Whip, Hon. Noimot Lawal; and former House of Representatives member, Hon. Jimoh Ojugbele, among others.
