As part of his commitment to educational advancement, Senator Solomon Adeola (APC, Ogun West) has approved the release of funds to cover the cost of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) UTME forms for 5,000 indigent students seeking admission into tertiary institutions.
Announcing the initiative, Senator Adeola explained that his office had been inundated with requests from parents, guardians, and students seeking financial assistance to purchase JAMB forms.
“For some time now, requests have been pouring into my office as well as my social media accounts for financial assistance to obtain JAMB forms”.
“I decided to approve funding for at least 5,000 students as part of my representative function and to enhance the educational advancement of our people,” he stated.
Eligible candidates must possess the requisite qualifications and provide a valid telephone number and National Identification Number (NIN).
Registration for the programme will take place from February 24 to 27, 2025, at 9 a.m. daily at Asade Agunloye Pavilion Ground, Ilaro, Yewa South Local Government Area.
Senator Adeola emphasized that his investment in educational infrastructure, including the construction of over 200 new classrooms, ICT centres, and teacher training programmes, would have little impact if students were unable to further their education due to financial constraints.
“The benefits of these investments would be diminished if students at this level are denied opportunities to further their education due to financial challenges,” he noted.
He also revealed plans to implement the second edition of his scholarship and bursary programme for students in tertiary institutions, further reinforcing his commitment to education in Ogun West.
