The family of Engineer Babatunde Adesola Salako has announced the death of their patriarch at the age of 91.
In a statement made available to journalists, the family disclosed that the late Salako lived a fulfilled life marked by dedication to service, faith, and humanity.
Engineer Salako attended Baptist Academy, Lagos, and later proceeded to Northern Polytechnic, London, where he trained as an engineer.
He had a distinguished career with the Nigerian Railway Corporation, where he rose through the ranks and retired as Director of Signal and Telecommunications.
Speaking on behalf of the family, his son and Chief Operating Officer of Silverbird Group, Bola Salako, described his father as a man who placed God above all and related with people in love and respect.
“He put God first in everything and treated everyone he came across with love and respect. He will be greatly missed,” he said.
The family has announced that an evening of worship will be held on April 16, 2026, between 4pm and 6pm at the Chapel of Christ The Light, located within the Lagos State Secretariat, Alausa, Ikeja.
The funeral service is scheduled for April 17, 2026, from 9am to 11am at the same venue, after which the remains of the deceased will be interred at Ikoyi Cemetery. A reception will follow immediately after the interment.
The late Engineer Salako is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, and other members of the family.
