The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, popularly known as So-Safe Corps, has arrested a 22-year-old Beninese national, Solomon Fadele Sunday, over the alleged murder of a woman in Ihunbo, a suburb of Idiroko area of the state.

The arrest was disclosed in a statement issued by the State Commander of the Corps, Dr. Soji Ganzallo, and made available to journalists by the Director of Information and Public Relations, Assistant Commander Adegunwa Adegbuyi.

Ganzallo said the suspect was apprehended on April 10, 2026, following a distress call received by the Corps’ Director of Anti-Arms Smuggling, ACC Abdulkareem Abdulrazaq, from the Onihunbo of Ihunbo land, HRM Olamide Adeshiyan, over a suspected case of murder in the community.

He said, “On April 10, 2026, at about 4:00pm, the Director of Anti-Arms Smuggling received a distress call from the Onihunbo of Ihunbo land concerning a suspected case of murder. The patrol team responded promptly, and the suspect was arrested.”

According to the commander, preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect allegedly met the victim, identified simply as Taye, on April 5, 2026, in Ihunbo, after which they began living together.

He added, “During interrogation, the suspect confessed that he met the victim on Sunday, April 5, 2026, in Ihunbo town. They stayed together under the same roof until her eventual death on April 10, 2026.”

Ganzallo further stated that the suspect claimed the victim was from Ikoga in Lagos State but could not provide details of her residence or family background.

“The suspect said the victim is from Ikoga, Lagos State, but he does not know her house address or any of her family members,” he added.

The So-Safe Corps boss disclosed that the suspect had been handed over to the Nigeria Police Force, Idiroko Divisional Headquarters, for further investigation and possible prosecution.

He said the remains of the deceased had also been deposited at the Ilaro Mortuary by the police.

Ganzallo reiterated the commitment of the Corps to safeguarding lives and property across the state, urging residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to security agencies.
