The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, popularly known as So-Safe Corps, has arrested four suspects, including three secondary school students, after foiling an alleged cult attack on Methodist High School, Arigbajo, in Ewekoro Local Government Area of the state.

The Corps said its operatives swiftly responded to a distress call reporting that suspected armed cultists had invaded the school premises and were targeting students and members of staff.

The State Commander of the Corps, Cmdr. (Dr.) Soji Ganzallo, disclosed this in a statement issued by the Director of Information and Public Relations, Assistant Commander of Corps Adegunwa Adebuyi.

According to the statement, the incident occurred at about 12pm on Monday, June 29, 2026.

It read, “The Corps received a distress call indicating that a large group of suspected armed cultists had invaded the school premises. The invaders actively targeted both students and teaching staff.”

The statement added that officers were immediately deployed to the school, where they confronted the hoodlums, who were allegedly armed with machetes, knives, charms and other dangerous weapons.

“Due to the tactical and decisive action of our officers, the attackers were repelled and chased out of the school environment, successfully preventing any injuries or casualties among the students and members of staff,” the statement added.

The Corps identified the arrested suspects as Adeyemi Toyosi, 18, a Senior Secondary School 3 student, Taiwo Adeniji, 17, an SSS2 student, Olusoji Olaleye, 17, also an SSS2 student, all of Papa High School, Ewekoro, and Muhammad Mustafa, 16, a scrap metal collector from Kebbi State.

It was gathered that while other suspects escaped with some weapons, a cutlass was recovered from the scene and kept as an exhibit.

The statement noted that the suspects and the recovered exhibit had been handed over to the Nigeria Police Force at the Itori Divisional Headquarters for further investigation and possible prosecution.

Reaffirming the agency’s resolve to tackle cult-related violence, Ganzallo said, “The So-Safe Corps remains fully committed to working with communities to ensure the safety of all educational institutions across Ogun State.”

He also urged parents and guardians to closely monitor the activities and associations of their children and wards, stressing that the Corps maintains a zero tolerance policy against cultism and violence in schools.
