Tinubu has forwarded three ambassadorial nominees to the Senate for confirmation.
The list was presented during Wednesday’s plenary by the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, who read the communication sent from the Presidency.
The nominees are Kayode Are from Ogun State, Aminu Dalhatu from Jigawa State and Ayodele Oke.
Akpabio explained that the submission marks the first batch of appointments and more names are expected.
He said the letter conveyed that the President is putting forward three nominees for now while others will follow.
This move comes more than two years after Tinubu assumed office in 2023 without appointing ambassadors, a delay that had attracted public criticism and concerns from diplomatic circles.
Further details are expected as the Senate begins the confirmation process.
