President Bola Tinubu has approved the deployment of four ambassador-designates to France, the United States of America, the United Kingdom and Turkey, in the first set of postings following the confirmation of 68 nominees by the Senate in December.

The approval was contained in a State House press release issued on Thursday by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

Those deployed are Ambassador Ayodele Oke, who will serve as Nigeria’s envoy to France, and Colonel Lateef Are, posted as ambassador to the United States. Ambassador Amin Dalhatu, a former envoy to South Korea, has been named high commissioner-designate to the United Kingdom.

Also approved is the posting of Usman Isa Dakingari Suleiman, a former governor of Kebbi State, as Nigeria’s ambassador-designate to Turkey, a development coming ahead of Tinubu’s planned state visit to the country next week.

In a memo addressed to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Tinubu directed the ministry to notify the governments of the four host countries in line with established diplomatic procedures.
