Security agencies searching for the schoolgirls abducted in Kebbi State are closing in on their location, according to the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle.
Twenty five female students were taken on Monday, November 17, when bandits attacked the Government Girls’ Comprehensive Secondary School in Maga.
Tinubu directed Matawalle to travel to Kebbi State to coordinate the rescue effort.
While addressing reporters in Birnin Kebbi, the minister said the intelligence gathered so far points to significant progress. In his words, “The intelligence we have shows that we are almost close to those children.”
Matawalle also assured Governor Nasir Idris that the Federal Government is prepared to work with the state to secure the safe return of the schoolgirls and reunite them with their families.
