The chamber movement in Nigeria is mourning the passing of a respected business icon and past President of the Abeokuta Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (ABEOCCIMA), Alhaji (Chief) Surajudeen Adebisi Bada FCNA, who died on Monday, September 8, 2025.
The Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA), in a condolence message signed by its Director General, Mr. Olusola Obadimu, on behalf of the National President, Engr. Jani Ibrahim, described the late Bada as a trustee and dedicated leader.
“On behalf of the National President of NACCIMA, the Council, and the entire membership, we wish to convey our heartfelt condolences to you, the entire family and the members of ABEOCCIMA on the passing of your Trustee and Past President, Alhaji (Chief) Surajudeen Adebisi Bada.”
“He served the chamber with uncommon dedication in various capacities, leaving behind an indelible mark on the private sector not only in Abeokuta but in Ogun State as a whole.”
“His selfless contributions to the growth and development of ABEOCCIMA will never be forgotten. We pray Almighty Allah to comfort and strengthen you, the entire membership of ABEOCCIMA, and the bereaved family. May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace,” he added.
On his part, the President of ODUACCIMA and past President of ABEOCCIMA, Alhaji Wasiu Olaleye, also paid glowing tribute:
“We lost another gem. The gentleman called Suraju Adebisi Bada was a leader of leaders. His motivational ability gave the ABEOCCIMA the mini hall we use for our events today.”
“In 2019, he was due for the position of NVP of NACCIMA but he nominated and supported me instead. During the formation of NYE in ODUACCIMA, he donated N250,000 even though he didn’t hold any post there.”
“His love and passion for the business community was exceptional. I pray to Almighty Allah to accept his return, forgive his shortcomings and accept his good deeds as an act of Ibadah. Aameen. Good night, Alhaji Surajudeen Adebisi Bada.”
From ABEOCCIMA, President Mr. Erigbemi Shorunke simply said, “Please kindly accept our condolences.”
Otunba A. Babs Adesanya, a past President of ABEOCCIMA, described him as a brother and exemplar. “Innah lilahi ilaehi rajiunah our dear brother and exemplar. We miss you. May the Almighty Allah accept his return and admit him into aljannah firdaus.”
Mr. Akinola Lawson, also a past President of ABEOCCIMA, prayed for comfort for the bereaved family. “May JEHOVAH God grant his family and the rest of us the fortitude to bear this great and irreparable loss.”
Engr. Olalekan Jiboku, an Executive member of ABEOCCIMA, noted, “May God Almighty grant his family left behind to bear the great loss.”
The First Deputy President of ABEOCCIMA, Alhaji Ibrahim Bada, added, “As family, he was a blessing — someone who offered love, encouragement, and strength. As a leader, he was a man of vision and service, guiding the chamber with wisdom and integrity. I take comfort in knowing that his good works live on, and that his life continues to inspire us.”
Mrs. Cynthia Saka also joined in the tributes, saying, “God will console us all and grant the family the grace to bear it, we love him but God love him most.”
The Remo Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (RECCIMA), through its President, Omo’ba Abiola Ogundeko, wrote, “The death was not just a loss to ABEOCCIMA nor OGUNCCIMA alone but to the entire NACCIMA in general, having taken into cognisance his role towards the development of the chamber movement in Nigeria during his lifetime. We pray God to grant the deceased eternal rest.”
Similarly, the Yewa Chamber of Commerce (YECCIMA) in its condolence message described the late Bada as, “An extremely simple gentleman and entrepreneur to the core. May God Allah (SWT) grant his gentle soul a perfect place in His Al-Janat Firdaus and grant his family, and the Chambers of Commerce family, the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss. Rest in perfect peace, Alhaji Surrybee.”
Beyond his remarkable roles within the chamber movement, Alhaji Surajudeen Adebisi Bada was also a seasoned accountant, a successful businessman, and a philanthropist who touched lives quietly through acts of generosity.
He was widely respected for his commitment to education, community development, and youth empowerment, leaving behind not only physical legacies in the chamber but also values that inspired those who knew him.
His death marks the exit of a leader who lived for service and humanity.
