Contractors handling major road projects across Ogun State have pledged to deliver quality infrastructure that will not only meet government specifications but also stand the test of time.

The assurance came from various construction firms currently working on strategic roads in different parts of the state.

They commended the significant investment by the Ogun State Government in infrastructure, promising that the quality of work would reflect the confidence reposed in them.

At the Ilisan-Akaka-Isara road project, spanning 12.3 kilometers, the site engineer for Still Earth Construction and Realty, Engr. Ifeanyi Ugorji, confirmed that the project was already 73 percent complete and on track for delivery before the August deadline.

“We are prioritizing the drainage because we need it to protect the embankment and the pavement itself. As soon as we’re done with the drainage, we’ll begin the earthwork, which is the most critical part,” he said.

He also noted that 60 percent of the asphalt overlay from the starting point of the road has been completed.

In Ijebu-Ode, where Fort Hermon Construction is handling three roads—Tam-Balogun (0.85km), Osinubi (1.1km), and Obalende-Abeokuta (12.5km)—site engineer Engr. Michael Umeh reported that clearing, excavation, stone base, and drainage construction have been completed.

“Despite the rain slowing us down, our reputation is built on quality job delivery. We’re forging ahead,” he stated.

At the Sagamu-Iperu-Ode-Saapade corridor, Hi-Tech Construction’s site supervisor, Ghassan Moussa, said the second phase of the project is underway and progressing steadily.

“We’ve completed 60 percent so far. We’re extending both sides of the road, laying the stone base, and will commence asphalting shortly. Quality remains our hallmark,” Moussa assured.

Meanwhile, Craneburg, the company overseeing the Akute-Ijoko road, has completed excavation on a 500-meter stretch and is set to begin drainage construction. Site supervisor Engr. Michael Akam emphasized the company’s commitment to excellence.

“We’ve done about 500 meters. It’s a standard road with drains on both sides. We’re known nationwide for quality work, and this will be no different,” Akam said.
