Abuja – Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has dismissed reports circulating on social media alleging that he was arrested in France, describing them as politically motivated distractions aimed at undermining his work.
Speaking during an inspection of the ongoing Gwarimpa Interchange project, Wike said the rumours were fabricated by critics uncomfortable with the progress of his administration.
He stressed that while the false reports were spreading online, he was actively on-site inspecting projects at the Kubwa/Bwari axis.
“People will like to distract you, but once you are focused, you won’t be perturbed. Critics will always try to play politics,” Wike said.
He further emphasized that propaganda and falsehoods would eventually lose their impact, noting that the public would grow weary of repeated misinformation. Wike advised public office holders not to be swayed by attempts to divert attention from service delivery.
“As far as your boss, the President, is happy with what you are doing, you remain focused and deliver on your mandate,” he added.
