Sixteen prospective corps members (PCMs) have lost their lives in a tragic road accident while travelling to the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) orientation camp in Gombe State.
The victims, all graduates of Adeyemi Federal University of Education (AFUED), Ondo State, were en route to commence their service year when the incident occurred.
The ill-fated journey involved an 18-seater bus, which reportedly crashed under circumstances yet to be fully determined.
Eyewitnesses described the accident as catastrophic, leaving two survivors critically injured and rushed to a local hospital for urgent medical attention.
Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene, recovering the bodies and evacuating the injured.
As of press time, the NYSC Management has not issued an official statement regarding the tragedy.
