The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, So-Safe Corps, has arrested a 21-year-old man, Ajekunle Olubode, for allegedly vandalising and stealing cables at One Accord Community, along Lafenwa-Itele Road, Ogun State.
The arrest was disclosed in a statement by the State Commander of the corps, Cmdr. (Dr.) Soji Ganzallo, and signed by the Director of Information and Public Relations, ACC Adegunwa Adegbuyi.
According to the statement, the agency received an urgent distress call at about 12 noon on August 12, 2026, reporting an ongoing criminal activity in the community.
The Divisional Officer of the Itele Divisional Headquarters, SC Ogunkunle Oluwagbemiga, was said to have mobilised his team to the scene, where Olubode was apprehended.
The corps said the suspect had vandalised and removed cables from the premises before its operatives arrived.
During preliminary investigation, the suspect allegedly confessed that it was not his first time committing such an offence at the house.
He reportedly admitted stealing items, including a pumping machine, from the premises in the past, adding that his usual method was to monitor unoccupied houses for several days before breaking into them at night.
The suspect further disclosed that he had been staying around the premises for three days before his arrest and claimed that he had standby customers who purchased proceeds from his criminal activities.
The So-Safe Corps subsequently handed the suspect and recovered exhibits over to the Itele Police Station for further investigation and possible prosecution.
