Ogun State-owned airline, Gateway Air, has announced the commencement of flight operations to Abuja, Port Harcourt, Calabar, Jos, and Kano as part of efforts to enhance connectivity across the country.
The disclosure was contained in a statement issued at the weekend by the Special Adviser on Information and Strategy to Governor Dapo Abiodun, Kayode Akinmade.
According to the statement, the airline will begin scheduled operations on Monday, April 13, 2026, covering routes such as Iperu to Abuja, Abuja to Port Harcourt, Abuja to Calabar, Abuja to Jos, and Iperu to Kano.
It added that the one-way flights would operate on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, offering passengers more flexible and convenient travel options.
The statement read, “Gateway Air will commence scheduled flight operations on the following routes beginning Monday, 13th April 2026: Iperu to Abuja, Abuja to Port Harcourt, Abuja to Calabar, Abuja to Jos, and Iperu to Kano.
“The one-way flights will operate on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, providing reliable and convenient travel options for passengers, with economy fares starting from ₦100,000.”
Akinmade noted that the development represents a significant milestone in improving regional accessibility, adding that the initiative would also support economic growth and strengthen connectivity between key cities.
He urged intending passengers to make early bookings and stay updated through the airline’s official communication channels for flight schedules and other necessary information.
Gateway Air, according to him, remains committed to delivering safe, efficient, and customer-focused air travel services.
