President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will depart Abuja on Saturday, May 2, 2026, for official visits to France, Kenya, and Rwanda, where he is scheduled to participate in high-level international engagements.

The development was disclosed in a statement issued on Friday by the State House through the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

According to the statement, the President’s first stop will be in France before proceeding to Nairobi, Kenya, to attend the Africa-France Summit slated to hold from May 11 to May 12. The summit, co-chaired by French President Emmanuel Macron and Kenyan President William Ruto, will focus on energy transition, green industrialisation, digital transformation, and climate action.

The statement noted that Tinubu’s participation would reaffirm Nigeria’s commitment to strengthening strategic partnerships with African countries and France, particularly in areas of economic growth and sustainable development.

It added that the summit, themed “Africa Forward: Africa-France Partnerships for Innovation and Growth,” would provide a platform for leaders to deliberate on economic transformation, infrastructure development, youth empowerment, and technological advancement across the continent.

Following the Kenya engagement, the President will proceed to Kigali, Rwanda, to attend the Africa CEO Forum scheduled for May 14 to May 15. The forum, themed “Scale or Fail,” is expected to bring together over 2,000 business leaders, investors, and policymakers to explore strategies for accelerating economic transformation and regional integration.

The Presidency said Tinubu would use the platforms to highlight his administration’s reforms aimed at positioning Nigeria as a leading investment destination, while also holding bilateral meetings with global and African business leaders.

The President is expected to be accompanied by some ministers and senior aides and will return to the country after the Rwanda engagement.
