Former Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun, has lost her husband, Anthony Adeniyi Adeosun, who died at the age of 62.
A statement issued on Wednesday by C. A. Adeosun on behalf of the family said the deceased, fondly known as Niyi, passed away in Lagos.
According to the statement, he is survived by his wife, children and siblings, including the founder of Kuramo Capital, Adewale Adeosun.
The family said funeral and Christian burial arrangements would be announced later.
The statement read, “Though our hearts are heavy, we take comfort in the assurance of God’s Word: ‘Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord… that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.'”
It added, “The family requests privacy during this difficult period as we grieve our irreplaceable loss. Details of the funeral and Christian burial arrangements will be communicated in due course.”
The family also expressed appreciation to those who had offered prayers, condolences and support following the loss.
Kemi Adeosun served as Nigeria’s Minister of Finance under former President Muhammadu Buhari from 2015 to 2018.
