The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, otherwise known as So-Safe Corps, has arrested three men suspected of involvement in cult-related activities and recovered a firearm during a security operation in Ijagun, Ijebu-Ode area of the state.
The suspects, identified as Samuel, Dapo and Favour, were arrested on Sunday, October 4, 2026, at about 4:00 p.m. at Emmanuel Villa, Abapawa, Ijagun Town.
The State Commander of So-Safe Corps, Commander Soji Ganzallo, disclosed the development through the Director of Information and Public Relations of the Corps, Assistant Commander of Corps, Adegunwa Adegbuyi.
According to the Corps, the operation followed credible intelligence on the activities of suspected cult members operating in the area.
Adegbuyi said operatives moved to the location after receiving the intelligence and conducted a security operation that resulted in the arrest of the three suspects.
He added that a firearm was recovered during the operation and immediately secured as an exhibit for further investigation.
The suspects were subsequently handed over to the Nigeria Police Force, Igbeba, along with the recovered firearm, for further investigation, interrogation and possible prosecution.
Ganzallo commended the operatives for their prompt response and intelligence-led operation, assuring residents that the Corps would continue to work with other security agencies to tackle cultism, armed criminality, violence and other threats to public safety.
He urged residents to remain vigilant and provide security agencies with timely and credible information about suspicious movements, cult-related activities, illegal possession of firearms and other criminal activities in their communities.
The State Commander also reaffirmed the commitment of the So-Safe Corps to strengthening community security through intelligence gathering, rapid response and collaboration with relevant security agencies.
