A military aircraft with 32 people on board crashed near the naval base in the Igbokoda area of Ondo State on Monday, with 25 passengers and seven crew members aboard the ill-fated flight.
Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, disclosed the figure while giving an update on the incident.
The aircraft, which was owned by the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), was reportedly on a routine mission from Lagos to Benin, the Edo State capital, when it crashed in the Igbokoda area.
The Nigerian Air Force had earlier confirmed that the aircraft belonged to the service, following reports of the crash.
The incident occurred close to the naval base in Igbokoda, raising concerns among residents and security personnel in the area.
Details of the cause of the crash and the condition of those on board were not immediately available as of the time of filing this report.
