Residents of Yewa Division have commended the Ogun State Government under the leadership of Governor Dapo Abiodun for its commitment to people-oriented development and inclusive governance, describing it as a model of leadership that connects the government directly with the grassroots.

The commendations were made during the Town Hall Meeting on the preparation of the Medium-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) and the 2026 Budget for the Yewa Division, held at the Yewa Frontier Hotel and Resort, Ilaro.

Speaking at the event, the representative of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Ilaro Branch, Comrade Oguneko Oladipupo, lauded the administration for its numerous developmental initiatives across the state.

He noted that the Abiodun-led government had made visible impacts in road construction, healthcare delivery, education, youth empowerment, and rural electrification.

According to him, “Governor Abiodun has shown genuine concern for the welfare of the people through programmes that touch lives directly. From the improvement of our roads to empowerment schemes, we can see the difference in governance.”

Similarly, Dr. Adegbite Badmus applauded the government for its progressive programmes, particularly those that benefit women and children.

He urged for continued attention to healthcare, education, and women empowerment, saying, “These are areas that build strong families and stronger communities.”

Also speaking, the Former Deputy Governor of the state, Alhaja Salmot Badru, commended the Governor for his performance, noting that he had not only sustained the achievements of past administrations but had surpassed them.

She added that the visible development across the state reflects his commitment to the people’s welfare and progress.

In his remarks, the Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Mr. Olaolu Olabimtan, emphasized that citizens’ participation remains central to Ogun State’s development strategy.

He said the Town Hall Meetings serve as a platform for inclusive engagement, transparency, and accountability, ensuring that projects and policies align with citizens’ real needs.

“The MTEF and budget meetings are not just ceremonial gatherings. They are opportunities for residents to shape government decisions. The more people engage, the better our policies will reflect their priorities,” he said.

Representing the Olu of Ilaro and Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle, the Onimeko of Imeko, Oba Benjamin Olanite, appreciated the Governor’s even spread of projects across the state.

He noted that the government had fulfilled almost all the promises made during the previous Town Hall Meeting.

Responding on behalf of the Governor, the Commissioner for Finance and Chief Economic Adviser, Mr. Dapo Okubadejo, reaffirmed the administration’s dedication to inclusive and sustainable development across all divisions of the state.

He listed major projects in Yewa Division, including the reconstruction of Oke-Erinja Road (Phase I), Bible College Road in Ado-Odo/Ota, General Hospital–Aferiku Road in Idiroko, Imasayi–Ayetoro Road (Phase II), Oke-Erinja–Ilobi Road (Phase II), and the Afon Palace–Afon Gada Road in Imeko-Afon.

Okubadejo further mentioned ongoing investments in healthcare, renovation of health centres in Owode/Idin-Ayin, Agosasa, Maun, Igbogila, Sunwa/Igan Okoto, and Ilujoda/Iboro, with new facilities underway in Imala, Ketu/Adie Owe, Ere, Atan, and Idiroko.

He added that the government had expanded digital learning, technical education, and the Ogun Job Centre initiative, while transforming markets such as Oja-Odan into agro-logistics hubs to boost agricultural productivity and reduce post-harvest losses.

Okubadejo reiterated the Governor’s belief that “the essence of governance is to make life better for the people,” adding that the administration would continue to prioritize projects that promote equity, economic growth, and grassroots development.
