Dr Olugbemisola Titilayo Odusote has been appointed the first female Director-General of the Nigerian Law School. Her appointment takes effect on January 10, 2026, and she will serve a four-year term.
The announcement was made in a press release by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, on January 6, 2026.
Dr Odusote, 54, currently serves as Deputy Director-General and Head of the Lagos Campus. She succeeds Professor Isa Hayatu Chiroma, whose eight-year tenure ends on January 9.
Odusote obtained her LL.B and LL.M from Obafemi Awolowo University and a PhD in Law from the University of Surrey, UK, focusing on Public Law and administration of justice.
She joined the Law School in 2001 and has served as head of the academic department, director of academics, and head of campus.
During her career, she was a visiting scholar at Nottingham Trent University in the UK and has published extensively in local and international law journals.
She has also presented papers at legal education conferences and served on committees of the Council of Legal Education and the Nigerian Bar Association.
As Director-General, Odusote will oversee the institution’s academic leadership, administrative management, and strategic direction across all campuses, and act as the primary liaison with the Council of Legal Education, the Body of Benchers, and the Nigerian Bar Association.
